Hey! I’m Cory, and I love photography and a good story. Ever since I was a child and I saw the photographs appear from nothing after it came out of my dad’s Polaroid camera, I have loved the idea of creating images. I decided I was going to be a photographer on the first day of my sophomore year in high school. I was sitting in my yearbook class and “photographer” was listed as one of the job options, and I immediately knew that is what I wanted to do. Then I studied photojournalism and for a time was in love with the idea of changing the world with storytelling photo essays like those of W. Eugene Smith or Dorthea Lange. I found a bit of a niche while I was an intern at the Everett Herald of shooting the Sonics. I went to 30 games that year and watched the Glove and the Reign Man dominate. Then I met my wife, and we officially opened our photography business on the first day of January 1994. It took a few years before it paid the bills, but photography has provided me with some amazing experiences, friends, and a fantastic life for me and my family.

I have an amazing wife and family. Besides me, there is my wife, Leslie, who makes my life better in so many ways it would be impossible to count, but her dedication to our family and love of family trips are probably the two that pop to mind. My three kids are Alyssa, Kyler, and Riley. Alyssa is a 7th-grade history teacher. She inspires me with her dedication to her profession and desire to make the world a better place for the kids she teaches. Kyler graduated this year from Pitzer College in California and is currently the Campaign Manager for a Seattle City Council race. My youngest, Riley, is a computer Science Major at Seattle U. They all make me proud on a daily basis.

In addition to photography (and photography gear), I love to travel with my family, soccer, read, and ride my bike around our new home neighborhood in Ballard.
