Seattle Courthouse Weddings
For someone looking to elope or have a micro wedding, the Seattle Municipal Courthouse is a great wedding venue. It has beautiful views and it is in the middle of downtown Seattle with both view rooms and a rooftop space for the marriage ceremony. There are all kinds of great places within walking distance for great wedding photographs including Occidental Square, the stadiums, the waterfront, the Seattle Public Library, and all kinds of cool little alleys, rooftops, courtyards, bars, coffee shops, and neat little secret places that I know. I wrote an article called “How to Elope in Seattle” that may be useful.
A & LJ were married at the King County District Court in Seattle. Before their ceremony, we walked to the waterfront to a little pocket beach by the ferry terminal. After their ceremony, they had a family dinner at Salty’s on Alki.
I met Jessica and Phi at the Seattle Municipal Court for their wedding. They are a great couple and it was a beautiful day! The Seattle Municipal Court has a beautiful rooftop deck for both the portraits and the ceremony. After their ceremony, we walked around downtown Seattle including the library for some more portraits.
I met Hao and Bonan on a cold February day at the Municipal Court of Seattle. We walked around City Hall and the Seattle Public Library before we went back to the courthouse for the wedding ceremony. The ceremony was indoors in the Judicial Library. Then, we went upstairs for a few portraits on the very cold rooftop deck.
Anastasiya and Purvang are a fun and funny couple that are always ready with a joke. They also take their heritages seriously and were married in the traditional marriage outfits of their native Ukraine and India. That made for some very fun and colorful images. We walked from the Seattle Municipal Court into downtown Seattle and back for portraits before returning to the courthouse for their wedding ceremony.
Shannon and Kevin are awesome! They were a ton of fun to hang out with and photograph. We visited the Seattle library, city hall, and the Seattle Municipal Court.
I met Meghana and Pranav at the Seattle Municipal Court for their wedding. At the beginning, you can see how incredibly hard it was raining. So we went and played at the Seattle Central Library. When we came back out, it was much better weather and we even managed to do an outdoor ceremony on the rooftop deck.
Annette and Chase had a cold and rainy day for their wedding at the Seattle Municipal Court. They were troopers and were prepared to brave the elements for some photographs, which I really appreciated. They were married in the jury room and we created some portraits on the rooftop deck, inside the courthouse and at a nearby courtyard that I have used a few times. Very cool people!
I met Meaghan, JT, their daughter and some family at the Seattle Municipal Court. We walked around Seattle taking some images before heading to the courthouse and the rooftop deck. Steph and Shamele met on a dating app. She was on the Olympic Peninsula and he was in Seattle. Because they were not very far in a straight line, the app told them they were close to each other not taking into account there was a greater than two-hour drive between them. They made the effort to meet anyway, and it seems to have worked out!
We started at the Washington Park Arboretum for portraits with their pup. Then we went to the Seattle Municipal Court for a wedding with Judge Chess on the rooftop deck with their immediate families.

I met Alexa and Kevin in West Seattle for some photographs with an awesome view of downtown. They love their dogs, so we included their dogs in a lot of the images as well as going to one of their favorite parks to hang with the pups. As I was talking to them about how they were from the midwest and moved to Seattle for their jobs, I was fully expecting them to be in the tech field like so many in the area are. They are in a way, but they build rockets for Blue Origins. It just sounds cool.
Audrey and Rich came up from Hollywood to have their wedding in Seattle with their family and friends. It just so happened that the date that worked out was Valentine’s Day!
