A & LJ were married at the King County District Court in Seattle. Before their ceremony, we walked to the waterfront to a little pocket beach by the ferry terminal. After their ceremony, they had a family dinner at Salty’s on Alki.

Read MoreAs a photographer, I love creating portraits of people. One of the few times adults have their individual portraits taken is for their business headshots or whatever style of portraits work for the company. I work with a lot of companies that want a more relaxed take on the typical business marketing portrait. I also try to throw in some portraits that push the boundaries a bit into a more editorial style so that the marketing people have options if they need some creative photographs for their social media.
Read MoreMS & A were married at an AirBNB on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. It was a fairly small event, but much larger than what I see at the courthouse. It is always fun to photograph elopements at new places. They were married in front of their family and closests friends on a deck overlooking the Puget Sound right around the time of the winter sunset. Very cool.

We started at their apartment and walked to Pike Place Market and their favorite bar before joining friends and family at Pier 62. There they greeted their guests and family before we went to the Seattle Aquarium for their beautiful wedding and reception. It was a fantastic day with a very fun couple.

After sunset, we went to a tennis court to do some night shots with a racket and some balls. His parents had some fun with throwing some tennis balls at Jace.
Read MoreAshley and Alex are a fantastic, warm, and caring couple that met at their gym. It was a lot of fun to photograph the two of them and their friends and family at their Imperia Lake Union wedding. They had a set designer create a very cool backdrop on the stage for their wedding. I don’t see that a lot at Imperia because it has so much style that it doesn’t need a lot added to it. However, the designer did a great job of enhancing the space and making it unique to Ashley and Alex while retaining the art deco charm that the venue always has. It is one of my favorite wedding venues to photograph in Seattle.

Read MoreI met Laura and Bret at Rattlesnake Lake for their engagement portraits. I hadn’t seen the lake with such a low water level before which exposed lots of old tree stumps. It was an odd, cool look that made for some very cool photographs, but not what I was expecting. I can’t wait for Laura and Bret’s wedding in a few months!

There is usually a lot of creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration involved to create some great marketing photographs for the company. For this set of images for Peter of The Seattle Personal Trainer, we had some of his clients come into the gym on Queen Anne and created images of him coaching and helping them. It was a fun shoot!

Read MoreSenior portraits are fun to photograph. I help the kids and parents plan a session where they can both be comfortable and get something really fun and cool to share with their friends and family. I love how senior portraits are also like time capsules that show a real personality for a point in time.
For Olivia, we met at the UW campus in Seattle. She loves the Suzzallo Library and it looks like a set from Harry Potter.
I have been working with Abbott Construction for over a year to create a complete set of marketing portraits of all of their executives, project engineers, project managers, site supervisors, and all sorts of other people. They use the headshots for their marketing and their proposals.
Read MoreBrooke and Austin combined a couple of very cool venues for their elopement. They were married at Elope 253 in downtown Tacoma, which is a new venue for me. It was a very cool space designed specifically for elopements with a mid-century design aesthetic that I loved. After the heartfelt ceremony, we did some portraits outside and some family portraits. Then, we drove over to Gold Creek Pond for a celebration and some very cool outdoor portraits. I love Gold Creek Pond. It is a beautiful space that is easy to walk around to give you the feel of a real PNW adventure elopement without the hike. It is a little mini-adventure elopement! Brooke and Austin were a lot of fun to talk to and it was an honor to be part of their wedding day.
